BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Darryl Boyd is a Research Chemist at the US Naval Research Lab in Washington, DC, whose primary work focuses on developing sulfur-based optical polymers. He was a member of the Chemical & Engineering News 2018 “Talented 12” class, and was recently recognized by Purdue University’s College of Science as a Distinguished Alumni for his research accomplishments. He is the founder of“Science Made Simple LLC,” a company through which he performs science outreach throughout the country. He is an active member of ACS, and the National Organization of Black Chemists & Chemical Engineers, and is currently serving as the President of the Chemical Society of Washington. Finally, he and his wife are the proud parents of an 11-month-old baby girl.
